Mustard Mustard Greens

1 bunch mustard greens, washed and destemed

1 pint shitakes, sliced

6 turnips, sliced

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

3 tablespoons butter

3 tablespoons water

3 tablespoons Dijon mustard


  1. Saute turnips on medium heat with 2 tablespoons olive oil until almost done. Add mushrooms. Cook till both veggies are brown. Set aside.
  2. In a pot, sauté garlic in 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add turnip greens and water. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until wilted. Remove greens, squeezing out all the liquid you can into pot. Reduce this liquid by half. Add mustard. Add butter.
  3. Add greens, mushrooms and turnips to pot. Mix well.
  4. Serve with a pork loin for added deliciousness.
