Grated Turnip Salad
And here is a yummy-sounding salad recipe submitted by member Miriam Zoll. I suggested substituting daikon radish for the ever-popular salad turnips, as the turnips, alas, have run out.
Grate 5-7 small turnips (or some daikon, which we have)
Peel & grate 1 tart apple
Squeeze the juice of one lemon
Add salt and pepper to taste
Roast pecans and chop
Toss and eat -- what a wonderful medley of flavors -- a great salad for a really hot day.
